Reviewers consistently highlight the fast and efficient service, even during busy periods, though seating often involves sharing small tables with strangers. The authentic local experience is enhanced by traditional offerings like lotus seed tea and steamed milk pudding, with an English menu available upon request to accommodate tourists. While the atmosphere is bustling and informal, the skillful preparation of seemingly simple dishes is frequently praised, making it a must-visit spot for those seeking genuine Hong Kong diner fare.
Rally good milk pudding and bread with scrambled eggs! The lotus seed tea is really good aswell!! Long line but its fast! Expect to share a table!
Every time I come back to Hong Kong, this is a must-eat. If you go during off-peak hours, you can walk right in without waiting. The food always comes super fast, as usual, but this time, the waiter even brought me a little stool just to put my bag on. Since when did the service get this good? So touched!
Nothing screams classic Hong Kong diner quite like this place. The efficiency is second to none, service non-existent. Yet there is something in its simple fare of toast and eggs and macaroni soup that has a kind of magic - a magic where perfection is found in the simplest of food. There is no complicated technique involved, just no fuss cooking that delivers the most silky smooth scrambled eggs ever. The French toast, fried till golden brown has just the right amount of crispiness on its edges without losing its fluffiness. On top of that, its signature steamed milk pudding is jiggly with the perfect amount of bounce. These are dishes anybody can make - yet no one does it like Australia Dairy Company. And that is why it will always be a classic.
After already experiencing the awkward Hong Kong dining with complete strangers on a small space the day before, this was not as shocking anymore. Enjoyed my breakfast! Even though one might think that preparing an egg sandwich is the easiest thing in the world, it is not! The seemingly easy dishes are the hardest to prepare in my opinion and boy do they make them tasty here! Loved it! Thank you
Authentic local diner experience offering traditional Hong Kong style milk tea, steamed milk/egg pudding and buttery egg sandwich. It gets crowded on the weekend and they might seat you with other diners. They offer an English menu upon request. Must try and highly recommend.
Locally called “澳牛”, is one of the most iconic and fast-paced cafes. Since 70s, it has built a legendary reputation for serving up classic Hong Kong-style breakfasts with incredible speed and consistency. The cafe is especially famous for its ultra-creamy scrambled eggs paired with thick buttery toast, and its signature steamed milk pudding which is a silky, comforting dessert served hot or cold. Another favourite is the traditional breakfast set, which includes macaroni in chicken soup with slices of barbecued pork, served alongside toast and a hot milk tea. The atmosphere is famously intense and efficient. Staff move quickly, and while the service is famously brisk and no-nonsense, that’s part of the charm that locals and tourists have come to expect and even appreciate.
Australian Dairy Company is a must-visit for an iconic Hong Kong breakfast experience! The food is absolutely delicious—the scrambled eggs are incredibly fluffy and flavorful, and the overall meal is hearty and satisfying. I went around 1pm on a weekday, and while there was a small queue, the service was impressively fast. As for the staff, yes, they’re known for being a bit abrupt, but this time it wasn’t as bad as I’ve experienced before. Honestly, it’s all part of the authentic Hong Kong culture, and I’m totally fine with it as long as the food is this good. Highly recommend for a taste of classic HK breakfast!
The steamed milk pudding with egg white is on the sweeter side, but it’s perfectly balanced and not overly rich. Enjoying it warm is incredibly comforting, leaving your throat pleasantly soothed. The Hong Kong-style buttered French toast is absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The lemon tea is also delightful and refreshing.
